First in the Nation: Muscogee County Schools Partners with Army Career Skills Program to Create Jobs for Soldiers

Muscogee County School District (MCSD) in Columbus, Georgia has partnered with Fort Moore to become the first educational organization in the nation to collaborate with the Army Career Skills Program (CSP). This innovative program, part of the Transition Soldier Life Cycle model, empowers Soldiers to take full advantage of training and development opportunities throughout their military careers, preparing them to excel both in uniform and as civilians.

One of the most exciting aspects of this partnership is the opportunity for Soldiers transitioning out of active duty to intern with MCSD for up to 120 days at no cost to the school district. This unique arrangement creates a powerful employment pipeline for the district while giving Soldiers hands-on experience in roles aligned with their interests, offering the potential for long-term employment. It’s a win-win that not only supports Soldiers in their journey to civilian life but also brings incredible talent to MCSD. Learn more about MCSD schools at Home – Muscogee County School District.
